The Deck Guys will provide every aspect of a deck construction from dreaming to completion of the project (i.e. design through construction and inspection)

1-    We start by meeting with you at the site to see your vision of the deck and get an idea of the scope of the project.

I have a deck IDEA but am unsure where to start

Meeting with you at the site will provide us with the opportunity to see your choice of size, location and specialized needs if any exist. Everyone has their ideal deck in mind. We want to provide a design to meet and exceed your expectations. Meeting at the site also gives us the chance to measure and determine elevation needs to help in designing your deck.

It is important to have a budget in mind prior to proceeding with the design of your deck. This should be discussed at the initial meeting to make sure your expectations are in line with your budget constraints. The challenge with providing an estimate prior to the completion of a detailed design is that if we guess to high, you may not proceed with your deck and conversely, if we guess to low, you may be disappointed with the final proposed price. Therefore we will make a reasonable attempt at providing a budgetary range during our initial site visit. With the wide variance in the cost of decking boards based on materials chosen, this can only be a ball park figure. Only after a quote is verified and contract offered can a more accurate picture of the cost be determined. Real wood products are less costly than composite materials and these vary in cost widely as well.

No, The Deck Guys will provide a dimensional drawing and 3-D rendering that will offer you an idea of what your deck will look like. If for any reason an architect is required, we can refer you to a qualified licensed architect who can prepare complete plans that will allow for permit application as well as construction material listings.

If you allow us to build your dream deck, we will prepare a detailed plan in preparation for permit application and to help you visualize your deck and how it will fit with your home. If you are ready to proceed, we will provide a comprehensive written deck agreement that details every aspect of your deck project, including material selections, quantities colors and sizes.  Any changes or clarifications made at this meeting will be incorporated into the final project specifications that will be attached to the agreement and submitted to you, along with other documents required by law. Once the agreement has been signed and the down payment received, the project will begin on a mutually agreed upon date.

          The project start to finish

Every deck project is as unique as the clients we serve, and will therefore require a completely unique set of constructions efforts, including the amount of preparation necessary by our clients prior to project execution and the methods and means by which the project will be handled. These issues and efforts will be explained in detail prior to our crew arriving at your home with shovel and hammer in hand. Once the project beings it is absolutely imperative that you (the client) and we (the contractor) have wide open lines of communication. This will be the key to our success and the key to the stunning project results you expect and deserve.

          Project change orders

A major concern for most people in a construction project is that they are going to get “stuck” with a lot of extra’s and overages at the end of the project. Since every deck is a custom deck, each is independently bid. This means your project is not based on averages or comparisons to other projects, but on the actual work that will be done. The Deck Guys strive to insure there will be no surprises at the end of the project for its clients. We make every effort to ensure that all aspects of the project are taken into account and are included in the bid. If during the project additional work not included in the agreement arises, a change order will be prepared and discussed prior to the work being done. This is a rare circumstance in deck construction due to the unique and direct nature of a deck. You will be kept aware at all times of any change that will create the need for a change order.
